Tony Robinson paints from life more than in the studio. He received a degree in fine art from North Staffordshire Polytechnic in 1976 and after post-graduate studies
became Ireland's first community visual artist, based in Wexford Arts Centre. He has remained in Wexford since 1980.
Tony paints landscape, figure, portrait and still life and his one-man exhibitions often are a record of a particular trip abroad or in Ireland.
A founder of Art in the Open painting festival, Tony has taken part in festivals abroad, notably winning first place in s'Hertogenbosch and Noordwijk where he
received the Rembrandt Painting Award. Tony
was commissioned to paint 'The Voyage of Brendan' for Kerry County Council and in 2012 he completed a portrait of boxing coach, Billy Walsh for the civic collection of Wexford Borough
