Bridget Flinn

Bridget studied at NCAD, Dublin and the Royal College of Art in London. Following graduation she worked for a time as an illustrator and retains a strong commitment to drawing as a basis for her painting. Since 2005, she has committed full-time to her painting practice.   While much of her work is landscape, Bridget paints still life, ranging from objects with strong, simple  shapes, to her floral arrangements, elaborate blooms, in rich colour.

She paints mainly in acrylic and while retaining a representational image, she interprets her subject in a semi abstract form, employing the full range of the paint's capabilities with interfacing panels of harmonious colour.

Bridget has exhibited regularly in a number of leading galleries. She has been selected to exhibit in the RHA Annual Exhibition in 2104, 2015 and 2016 and RUA Annual Exhibitions in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016. She has also been awarded a Fellowship of Ballinglen Arts Foundation in 2016. Her work is held in a number of collections, including OPW and Blackrock Hospice. Bridget is a member of Dublin Painting and Sketching Club and of The Watercolour Society of Ireland.
