Pictures by Hilary Elmes

Born in Dublin in 1963, Hilary Elmes graduated from The National College of Art and Design in 1988. Since then she has exhibited extensively in Ireland, UK, Germany and Latvia.
The Nicholas Gallery in Belfast and The Hallward in Dublin are among those who have held solo shows of her work.
Elmes has exhibited at The Royal Hibernian Academy, Oireachtas Exhibition, Eigse, Iontas and Boyle.
She produces wonderfully textural work based on her scrutiny of the natural world around us. She builds layers using paint and various mixed media on handmade paper or linen producing richly luminous works.
This accomplished, abstract landscape artist has works in numerous public and private collections.
