Pictures by Jean Duncan

Educated in Edinburgh and Belfast, Jean Duncan RUA divides her time between her Belfast home and a studio in France and is a noted printmaker. She exhibits at the Royal Ulster Academy regularly and was elected Academician in1994. Jean Duncan is also a founder member of the Octagon Gallery, Belfast; co-founder and honorary trustee of Seacourt Print Workshop, Bangor, Co. Down, founder member of the Artists' Collective of Northern Ireland and of CIRCA Art Magazine, Belfast. In 1987 she was elected to the Ulster Society of Painters in Watercolour.

Accomplished in a variety of media, Jean Duncan has collaborated with artists in several
disciplines including dance, video and music on a number of occasions including;
‘A Pale Yellow Sky’- a collaborative ensemble of mixed media and music with composer Deirdre McKay at the Naughton Gallery, Queen‘s University, Belfast in 2005 and
‘Still Dancers’ – a live performance by Vanbrugh Quartet with projected images at the National Concert Hall, Dublin, and at Jacqueline Du Pré Hall, University of Oxford in 2000.
