Pictures by Grainne Macey

Grainne Macey a native of Wexford (born Grainne Roche), studied Fine Art (Painting) at Limerick College of Art and Design graduating in 1992. She later qualified in education and is currently Head of Art at St. Andrew’s School in Woking, Surrey.
Grainne Macey’s paintings are heavily textured with a bold use of colour. Her studies explore the rhythm and movement within buildings, landscapes and interiors. Grainne’s paintings are raw and atmospheric using thick acrylic paint as her preferred medium, layered, scraped back and overlaid.
Appropriately, Grainne is returning to her home town to launch artistic career with her first sole exhibition at the Pigyard Gallery.
