Pictures in "David Daly: The Art of Illustration"
16 Mar 2007 - 31 Mar 2007
David Daly's work has marked him as one of Europe's foremost wildbird artists. Daly's great skill is to render truthful observation and detail with a loose and fluid style. His annual exhibition of paintings in the Wexford Wildfowl Reserve is a must-see for avid collectors of avian art .
In contrast, this exhibition concentrates on Daly's commissioned work for publication by BBC, the Wildlife Trust, the Office of Public Works, publishers New Holland & MacMillan, Wexford County Council, natural history magazines etc. It will show the astonishing breadth and accuracy of the artist's work and degrees of detail from field sketches to finished plate originals, paintings made for identification in field' guides together with his freer work for dust-jackets. Some studio paintings also feature, with the possibility to acquire most of the works on view.
